Raja Rani directed and written by Atlee, produced by A. R Murugadoss and S. Shanmugam and starring Arya and Nayantara in the lead roles and Jay and Nazriya Nazim. It is a romantic drama spreading a message that a successful life can achieved after love failure. There are three different love stories of 4 persons. It was also dubbed in Telugu language and got mostly positive movies.

Plot: Johan (Arya) and Regina (Nayantara) got married in a church. Although they were not at all happy but did this for the sake of their parent’s happiness. They did not like each other and didn’t leave one chance to annoy each other. One day Regina just falls on the ground with fits. John took her to the hospital, and serious Regina is treated via electric shocks. Doctor asked John about her health, at that time he couldn’t answer any questions due to being drunk but as soon he gained conciseness he answered all.

At that moment, he came to know about her past because of which she gets fits. After understanding her pain and respect for relation, he started liking her. Although she still hates him but after she comes to know about his past by one of his close friend she also started liking him. Now both love each other but are unaware of each other’s feelings. How they confess their love for each other is the most important part of this story.

Analysis: Raja Rani is romantic drama which was based on the theme that a peaceful and fresh life can start after love failure. It could be an emotional story, but however, the director managed to make it light through some entertaining scene. He got this idea and said to producer A.R Murugadoss who was ready to fund this movie. He was sure about casting Arya and Nayantara in the lead as they make nice pair together but other roles like Jay as Reina boyfriend and Nazriya as Johan’s Girlfriend was decided later.

The story line is good but quite long with that same climax predictable story. The writer couldn’t come up with a different and better ending. Cinematography done by George, was quite Impressive. Music was given to G. V. Prakash who did a great job and is praised a lot till now. These are other highlights of the movie. Overall we can say this will not make you feel bored. Although sitting for around 160 minutes for one film is quite a tough job.

Star Performances: Nayantara’s acting can be the other excuse to watch this movie. Her role as a lady who is becoming a sandwich between her past and present was tough, but she made it so perfectly. We can say that this role is made for her. Arya as a romantic and fun loving guy was perfect and so confident. His chemistry with both the actresses Nayantara and Nazriya was good. Nazriya as a newcomer appears so confident. Sathyaraj’s role as a father performs perfectly. Every character in this movie is done nicely.

What’s there?

1. Three different love stories in one film.

2. Nayantara’s and Arya’s wonderful acting.

3. Fully different and unseen concept.

What’s not there?

1. Good songs are the biggest minus point of this movie.

2. Being a very long length film seems sometimes irritating.

3. The same old and well known predictable climax concept.

Verdict: This is a simple and decent love story of three couples that can be watched at least once and it will steal your heart beat.
