Shooting For Drishyam 3 Officially Commences

George Kutty is back in action.

The shooting for the third and probably the final part of Drishyam has commenced. Mohanlal will be returning in the role of George Kutty, while Jeethu Joseph will be directing the movie, like he did with the previous instalments.

Loosely based on the Japanese novel The Devotion of Suspect X, Drishyam had released in 2013, with Mohanlal, Meena, Esther Anil, Ansiba Hassan, Asha Sharath, Roshan Basheer etc. in the lead roles. The movie turned out to be a surprise blockbuster, inspiring multiple remakes.

However, the one remake that stood out and almost eclipsed the charm of the original was the Hindi version directed by Nishikant Kamat in 2015. Ajay Devgn played the role of Vijay Salgaonkar, which was played by Mohanlal in the original.

The success of Drishyam 2 propelled the original producers, Aashirvad Cinemas to jointly produce both the versions of Drishyam 3. However, following Jeethu’s threat to sue the Hindi producers, the Hindi version will start shooting a bit later.
