Shwetha Menon Creates History As First Woman President Of AMMA

Shwetha Menon has created history.

Despite endless controversy, the actress has been elected officially as the first ever woman president of AMMA, which stands for Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes.

The AMMA committee was dissolved last  year after the findings of Justice Hema Committee report accused the top committees in Malayalam cinema of negligence. Following accusations against multiple stars, including Siddique, Malayalam superstar Mohanlal dissolved the committee which he led last year, calling for fresh elections.

Shwetha Menon made her debut in Malayalam cinema in 1991 with Anaswaram, which also starred Mammootty in the lead role. She also participated in the Miss Asia Pacific contest for 1994, where she reached the semifinals.

Shwetha Menon also worked in a couple of Hindi movies like Asoka, Run, Bandhan, Shikari etc.
