Jeethu Joseph recently shared his thoughts over the movie Drishyam 3.
Unlike the previous two instalments, the director wants to focus less on the mind games, and more on the equation between George Kutty and his family. He has made it clear that the movie won’t aim to overpower the aura of the first two movies.
Directed by Jeethu Joseph, and loosely based on the Japanese novel The Devotion of Suspect X, Drishyam was released in 2013 with Mohanlal, Meena and Geetha Prabhakar in the lead roles. The movie inspired multiple remakes, amongst which the Hindi version directed by Nishikant Kamat in 2015, which starred Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, and Tabu in the lead roles almost overpowered the legacy of the original.
Even when the Hindi sequel was released in 2022, it not only succeeded beyond expectations, but also added a unique angle with the characters of Tarun Ahlawat and Sub Inspector Gaitonde.
