is on cloud nine this year. His cult classic, ‘Kantara’, has earned him the distinction of being only the fourth Kannada actor win the National Award for Best Actor.
In a recent interview, Rishab Shetty opened up on his vision for the Kannada cinema, and the possibilities of working outside it. When asked if he would work in any Bollywood project, Rishab Shetty replied that he would do so if he gets the right script.
This is quite interesting because the last time Rishab Shetty had talked about Bollywood, he had been embroiled in a major controversy. This was because during an interview, Rishab Shetty called out Indian movies, especially the Bollywood ones, for showing India in a negative light. He had mentioned that most of the Indian movies, which are promoted globally, tend to show India in a negative light.
While he didn’t say anything wrong, Rishab Shetty was criticized by a section of influencers and critics, who accused Rishab Shetty of being biased towards Bollywood. Things escalated to such a point that the actor had to himself issue a clarification about his statement.
