This Superstar To Join ‘Kantara 2’?

Ladies and gentlemen, hold your breath! Mohanlal might make a grand Kannada debut with ‘Kantara : The Legend’!

According to the recent reports, talks are going on between the makers of ‘Kantara’ and Mohanlal. If the superstar agrees, he will be playing a key role in the prequel of ‘Kantara’. This would be the first time that the Malayalam superstar would be working in a full fledged role in a Kannada movie.  

It’s not that Mohanlal never worked in Sandalwood before. ‘Kantara’ was a social drama, which is based on the folklore of the coastal Karnataka region. Made on a low budget of 16 crores, ‘Kantara’ shocked the entire nation with its brilliant content, and its deep connection with Indian culture. The movie earned a massive total of 450 crores from worldwide collections, and also earned Rishab Shetty two National Awards : one for Best Popular Movie providing Wholesome Entertainment, and the other for Best Actor, making him only the fourth actor from the Kannada industry to earn so.
