Rishab Shetty is a Kannada film actor and director. He was born on July 7 in Keradi Village, Kundapur, Karnataka. He studied film direction at the Government Film and TV Institute in Bangalore and started his career as an Assistant Director to A.M.R. Ramesh in the 2006 bilingual drama film, Cyanide. Afterward, he assisted Arvind Kaushik in a television series before he made his acting debut in the Kannada film, Tuglak (2012), which Kaushik also directed. In 2013, Shetty did a small stint as a police officer in Pawan Kumar’s romantic psychological thriller film, Lucia.

The following year, he starred in the neo-noir crime drama film, Ulidavaru Kandanthe, a film that also marks his directorial debut. The film earned positive to mixed reviews from the critics and turned out to be an average grosser at the box-office. In 2016, he directed his next film, Ricky, a romantic thriller film, which he also starred alongside Haripriya in the lead roles. Also in 2016, he acted in Santhosh Kodenkeri’s suspense thriller film, Home Stay and directed another Kannada film entitled Kirik Party. On February 9, 2017, Shetty had an arranged marriage to Pragathi Shetty, a Software Engineer. Pragathi is her sister’s colleague at work. Their traditional wedding was held in Kundapur and attended by their families, friends, actors, and filmmakers of Karnataka.

AMR Ramesh is a South Indian director who has written and directed movies in Kannada, Tamil and Telugu films later dubbed in Malayalam as well as Hindi. He was born in Hanumantha Nagar in Bangalore. He is married to the well-known producer S. Indumathi and resides in Bangalore. He debuted as a director in 2004 with the movie ‘Santhosha’. However, he gained recognition with his second directorial venture in 2006 with the Kannada film ‘Cyanide: The Inside Story’ revolving around the incidents surrounding the assassins of Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. The movie stars Ravi Kale as Sivarasan who was the mastermind of the assassination. The movie also stars Malavika Avinash, Rangayana Raghu, and Tara. The film was shot in Tamil as well and was named ‘Kuppi’ marking its successful release in 2007. The film won two awards at the 2006-07 Karnataka State Film Awards. He was the writer and director of the 2008 Kannada movie ‘Minchina Ota’ starring Lakshmi Rai, Raghavendra, and Vijay. The movie was dubbed in Malayalam as ‘Mangalapuram’. In 2010, he directed the Kannada movie ‘Police Quarters’ starring Anish Tejeshwar and Sonu. In 2013, the Kannada biopic of the elusive character Veerappan was written and directed by AMR called ‘Attahasa’. The role of Veerappan was remarkably played by Kishore and DGP K Vijay Kumar was portrayed by Arjun Sarja. The movie was dubbed in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam. The movie received amazing reviews for its direction and the cinematography of the movie was also praised. AMR was credited by the critics for releasing another visually captivating film especially with the peculiar nature of the character and the terrain. In 2016, he wrote and directed the Kannada movie ‘Game’ loosely based on the 2012 Spanish thriller ‘The Body’. The movie stars Arjun Sarja, Manisha Koirala, and Shaam simultaneously shot in Tamil and later dubbed in Telugu as ‘Notuku Potu’. He also appeared in the movie in the role of Deva. The reviews credited the film as engaging and thrilling. In 2017, his direction ‘Aaspota (The Human Bomb)’ hit the theatres starring Darshan Thoogudeep and was also dubbed in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi. His movies have a unique feel. He usually writes his own story and has a command over his vision for the movie. He recently got involved in a controversy when he was sent a legal notice by Indrajit Lankesh, mother of the journalist/activist Gauri Lankesh who was shot dead by unknown assailants at her residence last year.
