1. Godfather

This is the longest running Malayalam movie ever released. Showcased for more than 400 days "Godfather" was a complete hit. It was directed by Siddique-Lal team, and Mukesh played in the leading role. N N Pillai played the role of Anjooran and was a great hit.

2. Chithram

A classic Priyadarshan hit featuring Mohanlal in the central role was a complete entertainer. It ran for more than a year (366 days by reports). The 1988 hit was filled beautiful songs as well.

3. Shankaraabharanam

"Shankaraabharanam" was a Telugu movie which showcased around Kerala as a dubbed movie. It ran for almost a year around the theaters in the year 1980. It was directed by K. Viswanath, and the songs were a great hit which paved a way for the movie’s success.

Directed by Sibi Malayail, "Akashadoothu" is a tragic film released in 1993. The film featured National Award winner Murali in the main role. This film was remade in Telugu and Kannada. It ran for more than 250 days in India.
