1. Maniratnam is an acclaimed director of Tamil film industry. But many may not know that he debuted as a director with the Kannada film Pallavi aur Pallavi. The film had a decent run at the box office and went on to garner few awards including Best Screenplay for Maniratnam.
2. Juhi Chawla, the vivacious actress of Bollywood, tasted her first success with the Kannada movie Prema Loka way back in 1987. This was released even before Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. The movie was well executed and had a feel-good element to it. Ravichandran co-starred with Juhi in the movie.

8. Arjun Sarja is fondly called as Action King. He has acted in quite some good movies in Kollywood, Tollywood, and Sandalwood. He was amongst the most famous child actors of Kannada cinema.
9. Maestro Ilayaraja is a living legend and has given several evergreen hits to the South Indian music lovers. He commenced his career by joining as an assistant to famous Kannada music composer G K Venkatesh. He was also mostly associated with Kannada cinema in the beginning of his career. 
10 Deepika Padukone, who was brought up in Bengaluru, debuted with the Kannada movie, Aishwarya. The movie was a commercial success, and her performance was lauded. Later she started to concentrate on Bollywood and her career is going great guns now.
