Top 10 Bollywood Movies That Were Inspired By Hollywood Hindi Article

Bollywood has maintained quite a good reputation, and somehow, it deserves it. While every film industry does seek inspiration from other industries, Bollywood sometimes not only takes inspiration from other movies but also copies it scene by scene without even giving any credit to the original ones. Here we bring you ten movies that were inspired by / copied from the Hollywood movies.

1. Bang Bang Click to look into! >> Read More... (2014) – Knight And Day Click to look into! >> Read More... (2010)

Both movies revolve around a guy who is mistaken as a criminal. The English film is about a Zephyr, a battery that never dies and can power the whole city and how Cruise protects it from falling in the wrong hand. In bang-bang, Hrithik is after the Kohinoor diamond and wants to bring it back to India where it originally belongs.

2. Aisha Click to look into! >> Read More... (2010) – Clueless (1995)

Filmmakers say that Aisha is inspired by the international novel, Emma. At the same time, we have observed that the scenes of the movie are an exact copy of Alicia Silverstone's Clueless. While clueless was a classic teenage film, Aisha represented the characters as the adults’. Otherwise, the scenes were quite the same. Sonam Kapoor Sonam Kapoor, Daughter of Anil Kapoor and model Su >> Read More... even copied some of the outfits. The performance of the actors was pretty good, and it is a fun movie to watch.

3. Mere Dad Ki Maruti Click to look into! >> Read More... (2012) – Dude, Where’s My Car (2000)

Mere dad Ki Maruti is a comedy movie showing a loud Punjabi wedding in Chandigarh, which is inspired by the plot of the Hollywood movie dude where’s my car? It revolves around two young men who cannot remember where they have parked their vehicle.

4. Ek Villain Click to look into! >> Read More... (2014) – I Saw The Devil (2010)

Even though the movie maker Mohit Suri Mohit Suri has directed many Indian movies mostly >> Read More... keeps denying that his film Ek Villain is inspired by the Korean film I saw the devil, the basic plots of both the movies are the same. A psychotic serial killer brutally murders the lead protagonist’s love, and therefore, the hero is eventually seeking revenge. The only difference is that Sidharth's character is a gangster, while the lead in the Korean film is an agent in the national intelligence service.

5. Alone Click to look into! >> Read More... (2015) – Alone (2005)

Alone is a horror-thriller remake of a Thai movie with the same name in which the two sisters who were conjoined since the birth lived with the promise that they will always be together. But some mysterious circumstances lead to the death of one while the other survives. Years later, the ghost of the dead twin comes to haunt the other surviving sister.

6. Tubelight Click to look into! >> Read More... (2017) – Little boy (2015)

A little boy is a source from where the Kabir Khan’s Tubelight was adapted. Both the films explore the ideas of self-belief and unparalleled love- one for a father (little boy) and the other for a brother (Tube light). Little boy’s character pepper was mocked because of his tiny stature, and his father was the only one who would support him and taught him to have faith in himself. It is quite similar to Tubelight in which Laxman’s brother would only support him and his innocence. Now, both of their life starts to fall apart when the war started and pepper’s father has to go to fight the Japanese and Laxman’s brother has to go to fight the Chinese. There’s another similar scene where pepper and Salman’s character tries to move the mountain.

7. Dobaara: See Your Evil (2017) – Oculus (2012)

One thing that Hollywood is not known for is the horror genre, yet here we are trying to make something without any new and creative ideas. Dobaara is a remake of Mike Flanagan’s Oculus. Both movies share the same plot where a brother and sister try to destroy the spirit possessed mirror, which killed their parents. As it proceeds, it seamlessly merges with their past and present, which makes it difficult for the audience to distinguish between what is real and what are just the scary illusions. As it was supposed to be a remake, it is a scene to scene copy paste.

8. Hichki (2018) – Front Of The Class (2008)

The basis of Hichki is the outstanding autobiography by Brad Cohen titled Front of the Class that became a Hallmark TV film in 2008. Rani Mukerji Rani Mukerji is one of the most celebrated Indian >> Read More... plays the role of Naina Mathur, who has a nervous system disorder, Tourette Syndrome, that forces an individual to make involuntary repetitive movements or sounds. Even though the basic plot of both movies is similar, the rest of the film is completely different.

9. Badla (2019) – The Invisible Guest (2016)

Sujoy Ghosh’s new movie Badla reveals its theme through its title. Starring Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu Taapsee Pannu is an actress and model of Indian or >> Read More... , the thriller is a remake of the Spanish hit The Invisible Guest, about a murderer brought to justice. Both the movies share the same plot where the lead actress is made a suspect of her lover’s murderer. They both shared the same hotel room in which no one entered nor left and yet actresses’ lover is found dead. As the movie proceeds, it unravels some very dark truths. Again, the filmmakers denied that it was a remake of another movie, but nothing can remain concealed because of the hawkish eyes of the internet.

10. Dil Bechara (2020) - The Fault In Our Stars (2014)

Dil Bechara is a fair remake of the Hollywood movie based on the john greens novel, the fault in our stars. Both Manny and Kizzie have a terminal illness and they struggle to survive it. While one thing led to another, they both fall in love with each other, and try to spend the remaining days happily and positively. They traveled to Paris to meet Abhimanyu veer, who was Kizzie’s favorite author, and she had some questions which she wanted to ask him. It is a beautiful romantic drama that will make you cry and laugh.
