This young at heart, busy, active “Seetha Paati” (the name she got while she acted in a drama in AIR) has a passion for stage dramas. Born in 1933, this lady even now commutes by bus and auto to reach the drama stage or shooting spot well in time which is a perfect example of her dedication towards her work.

She has appeared on stage for more than 450 times and she has acted in few movies and lots of teleserials from the year 1979. She has been with the drama troop Rasika Ranga since that time. She is such a veteran actress; she often with the permission of the director improvises her roles be it in the serials or stage drama.

She has been a part of almost all Marina’s dramas. When she got married to her cousin and came to Chennai from Kerala, she started working as an accountant in AG’s office where the veteran director K.Balachander was her colleague. He offered good roles in his serials because of her experience and outstanding performance as a stage artist. That’s the period serials were introduced in small screen and her small screen journey started. She loves acting in Balachander and late Balu Mahendra’s serials. Vatsala has acted in serials like Kai Alavu Manasu, Kadhai neram, , Chithi, Kolangal, Thangam, Mundhanai mudichu and much more.

In Thani Kudithanam" and she played the role of mother in-law and She performed as the gossipy aunt in drama called "Oor Vambu," and as possessive mother in "Maapillai Murukku."
