CID Sakunthala is a south Indian Tamil actress. She has worked in a total of six movies and has appeared in many events as a guest to express her views and thoughts. Her first movie in which she worked as an actress was CID Shankar.
It was a Tamil thriller which released on 1st May 1970. Directed by R Sundaram, the movie was produced by modern theatres and was a remake of the European film OSS 117 Mission for a Killer which released in 1965. After a long break of 8 years, she was seen in another film, Justice Gopinath. Directed by D. Yoganand, it was a Tamil film which released on 16th December 1978.
In this movie, Sakunthala worked with veteran actor Rajinikanth. Following this in 1979 she was seen in two movies first Kuppathu Raja and second Naan Vazhavaippen. Kuppathu Raja directed by TR Ramana was a blockbuster of its time which released on 12th of January.
This film featured Rajinikanth in the leading role. The Tamil thriller Naan Vazhavaippen released on 10th August. Produced by KR Vijaya the movie was based on the story of a man suffering from a brain tumor, who takes the blame for murder so that he could get some money to provide for his family. Later on, Sakunthala appeared in a supporting role in the film, Uzhavan Magaan.
Released on 21st October 1987 the film was not considered blockbuster but made a reasonable collection at the box office. Her last movie released on 10th November 1996. Directed by Murthi Krishna Nethaji, it was a Tamil action film which narrates the story of how a journalist and her sister got into trouble after saving a scientist from a notorious terrorist.
Post this, she was a part of a lot of events where she was seen expressing her views towards BHARATH MARATHON and its cause of creating TOBACCO FREE INDIA. She has also been seen talking about late MS Vishvanathan as a tribute to him and on various other events.
