B Gopalakrishnan is a performing artist skilled in fusion, film, and Carnatic music. In addition to being an IT professional, music is his other great passion. He was raised in Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu, India, and was born in Madurai. In the Muthiah Alagappa schools, education took place. He completed engineering from Sastra University in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, India. His mother, Neelayadakshi, and his late grandfather P. M. Venkata Krishnan are musicians. He performed the song "Veenaiyadi Nee Enakku" for the short film "Aa Aavanna" and was noticed and played on the BBC Radio of Asian Network.

The honorific titles "Sangeetha Gnyana Baskara" and "Sangeetha Aruna Bharathi" were bestowed upon him. He won the Smule "SRUTI - Season 2" global online singing competition. He finished as runner-up in the music reality competition Hariyudan Naan, Saregamapa Challenge, and Raagam Sangeetham. He placed among the top 15 competitors in the 2008 Super Singer competition in Tamil Nadu. He finished second in the under-18 category at the BSNL National Level Cultural Festival held in Ahmedabad. He participated in All India Radio programs as a representative of his school, Muthiah Alagappa Schools. He worked as a project engineer at Wipro and as a technology team head at Infosys. He is the head of teacher management at Atrium.
