Sujatha Vijayakumar

Sujata Vijaykumar is an Indian film producer who works mainly for Tamil Film Industry. She was born on 1st January 1961. She is married to Krishnamurthy Vijaykumar. She is the Mother-in-law of film star Jayam Ravi. Her notable production credit includes films like Veerappu (2007) and Adangu Maru (2018). She also produced Jayam Ravi and Nidhi Agarwal starrer Bhoomi. She worked as a writer for the Tamil TV Series Kanmani.

Sujatha Vijaykumar is a well-known Tamil film producer, and mother in law of famous Tamil actor Jayam Ravi. She works mainly in the Tamil industry. She is known for her credits in the Sundar C starred veerappu released in 2007, which was a remake of the Malayalam super hit Spadikam.

Sujatha’s Home Movie Makers banner produced a lot of films featuring Jayam Ravi. Sujatha shares a close bond with Khushbu Sundar and Sundar C. She produced Sundar C starrer Veerappu. She also shared the screen space with Khushbu in the serial Marumagal, which was telecast on Star Vijay TV in 2001. Nizhalgal Ravi paired Sujatha in Marumagal. Sujatha’s production venture Uthiripookal on Sun TV featuring “Chetan,” “Vadivukkarasi,” and Manasa Vikranth started airing in 2011. The serial received the Best TV Serial 2012 award from the Tamilnadu State Government. She was the Creative Head of serials, including Manaivi, Ganga, Lakshmi, and Madhavi. Sujatha was the President of the Society of Television Producers of South India (STEPS). The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Southern Region was inaugurated by “Stalin,” the Tamilnadu CM. Sujatha is one of the committee members of CII.

Sujatha’s son-in-law, Jayam Ravi, announced his separation from his wife, Aarthi, in September 2024. Sujatha was about to produce a film with Jayam Ravi, directed by “Pandiraj.” Following some budget issues, the film is said to have been dropped, stirring the controversy over Ravi’s divorce. A couple of days after Ravi’s announcement, Aarthi released a statement mentioning that the divorce announcement was made without her consent or knowledge. Ravi and Aarthi have 2 sons. The elder one, Aarav, has acted in Tik Tik Tik with his father in 2018.
