Dhirubhai Desai was a prominent Producer, Director and Writer in the Hindi film industry. He was born on 31st January 1908 in Kaliawadi, a locality in the Bombay province during the British-India period. He made his directorial debut in 1928 with the film Maya Na Rang. Dhirubhai Desai has over seventy films credited under his name, some of the well-known films are Pyaar (1940), Dev Kanya (1946), Shiv Kanya and Durga Puja in 1954, Maa Ki Aansoo (1959), Saranga (1961), Bhakta Druv Kumar (1964), Badrinath Yatra (1967) and many more. Dhirubhai was also credited as the Editor of the short film During and After Air-raid in 1970.
The film Daku Aur Bhagwan, which was released in 1975, became the last movie he directed. Dhirubhai Desai passed away on 30th July 1990 at the age of eighty-two. His legacy can be remembered through the numerous works of art he has left behind.
