K Balu was a renowned Indian film producer who worked mainly in Tamil Film Industry. He was the founder and owner of KB films, under which he produced several hit Kollywood films. Some of the best movies by K Balu are Pick Pocket (1989), Madurai Veeran Engasami (1990), Chinna Thambi (1991), Pandi Durai (1992), Utthama Rasa (1993), Jalli Kattu Kalai (1994), Thozhar Pandiyan (1994), Aahaa Enna Prutham (1997), and many more. He produced the movie Chinna Thambi, directed by P. Vasu in 1991, which was a super hit in the Tamil Film Industry. He won the Filmfare Award for the Best Film – Tamil. K Balu died of a sudden massive heart attack on 2 January 2021. He was undergoing Covid-19 treatment and was admitted to a private hospital, where he took his last breath.
