Aslam Mustafa

Aslam Mustafa is one of the popular music composers. He is also music programmer and pro-tool instructor. He started out doing playback with composer A.R. Rahman, which he claimed as great experience of his life.

He also worked with cinematographer & film director Santhosh Sivan, critically acclaimed film directors Krishnan.S.Gomatam and B.Sivakumar, mix engineer H.Sridhar, art director ThottaTharrani, lyricist Vairamuthu, film editors A. This talented composer won awards like Best Music Composer - Malli (Santhosh Sivan Production)2000 and Kannadasan Awardee 1999. He completed his schooling from different schools.

He studied at Albany Hall School (1977–1979) and later he attended Harrington House School (1979–1982) and Asan Memorial Senior Secondary High School(1982–1991). He also attended SAE Technology College from 2004 to 2005. While doing his diploma, he came to about pro-tools and since then this became his passion.He started his career as music composer and programmer in music album of Excuse Me - Yen Isai Chitram. He also worked as a composer in music album of Ho Gayi Hai Mohabbat.

The video for the title track "Ho Gayi Hai Mohabbat" Directed by Krishnan.S.Gomatam and Cinematograph by Santhosh Sivan, won the Channel V's Best Music Video award. Besides he worked as additional background scorer in movies like Malli (IMDB Rating 8.0), The Terrorist Click to look into! >> Read More... (IMDB Rating 7.2) and background score in Supari (IMDB Rating 4.4), Chellama, Navarasa (IMDB Rating 7.8), MudhalMudhalMudhalVarai. Malli is his first movie score which gave him The Best Composer Award from Poznan 2000, Poland Film Festival.

He also worked in a documentary called Maid in Bangladesh, Cinematographed by Sani Dastagir. He composed and programmed the themes using imagery and descriptions sent by Sani, a filmmaker from London. He worked in many commercials as music scorer like McCann-Erickson, Ogilvy & Mather, Indian Express, Titan Quartz, CKC diamonds for TV Commercials, Radio FM and Corporate AV.

He is also working as a volunteer in his free time at Blue Cross of India since Feb,1996.He is now currently working with his own music preproduction and pre-tools instructor in Chennai. He is very hopeful with his own music production and his fans are eagerly looking for his production’s release date.
