Nivas K Prasanna is a Tamil Singer and a Film Composer. He debuted as a singer in the year 2014 with the movie Thegidi. He is well known for his performance as a singer in the movie Sethupathi. Prasanna was born in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu. He was raised in Chennai. He did his secondary education at a small school in the nearby town. He started learning music at a very early age. He started learning Carnatic music when he was ten years old. After learning many musical instruments, Prasanna moved to Chennai with his family.

After completing his secondary education, Prasanna attended the SRM University and enrolled for Visual Communications Course. In the year 2013, he composed his first album with the singer Saindhavi.The name of the album was Kannamma. The album emphasized on the teachings of Bharathiyar. Many critics and listeners appreciated the music of the album.

A South Indian producer named Santhosh was very much impressed by Prasanna album, and thus gave him an opportunity to work with him. Santhosh recommended him to the director Deepan Chakravarthy for his supernatural thriller movie named Pizza II: The Villa. Unfortunately, Prasanna didn’t pass Deepan’s screening test. After that, Santosh offered him to compose music for his next upcoming movie named Thegidi. The movie was directed by Ramesh. The movie eventually became Prasanna’s first successful project.

Though the movie didn’t do much good on the Box-Office, the music of the movie was appreciated by most of the listeners. Even the critic acclaimed the music for its uniqueness and freshness. In the movie, he worked along with some of the greatest singers and musicians of Indian Cinema like Shankar Mahadevan, Abhay Jodhpurkar, and Andrea Jeremiah. He was awarded the Behindwoods Gold Awards for Find of the Year for his performance as a music composer in the movie. He also got to perform the song at the award ceremony.

He released his second album in the year 2016. The name of his second album was Sethupathi. The album didn’t receive as much appreciation as his first album and received mixed reviews. He worked as a singer in the song Indha Kaadhal Illaiyel from the movie Zero. Currently, Prasanna is working as a music composer in a movie named Kootathil Iruvar.
