PS Keerthana is an Indian actress who works for the Tamil film industry. She is famous for her role in Kannathil muthamittal of 2002, Pavithra and kaatru veliyidai. Keerthana was born on 17th August 1992 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu to Mr. R parthiban and Mrs. Seetha. Both of her parents are actors though her mother and father separated later.
She got married to
on 8th March 2018. Akshay is the son of editor A sreekar Prasad and is a director himself. Keerthana started acting in films from a very early age. She got her first big break when she was just nine years old. She received an offer from the director
who is known for his movies on terrorism and patriotism.
The picture was titled kannathil muthamittal. Released in 2002 the young artist portrayed the role of amudha who was the adopted daughter of Madhavan and Simran in the film. The movie was a blockbuster and received six national film awards, it won six Filmfare awards south, and the best film award at six international film festival. Keerthana won the silver lotus award for the best child artist and the creative award under Tamil Nadu state film awards.
Later she concentrated on completing her studies though she got many offers which included a Japanese film too. She did her graduation from Loyola college in Nungambakkam in Chennai in visual communications. Apart from acting and studies, she has learned Hindustani music, piano, and guitar and also performs hip hop and ballet.
The films Keerthana has acted in are pavithra, a peck on the cheek and kaatru veliyidai. Pavithra is a drama produced under the banner of thaniya films. Directed by K Subash, the plot revolves around a mother whose child dies at birth making her in turn fond of a patient of the same hospital. Her award-winning film a peck on the cheek revolves around a girl searching for her biological mother in Sri Lanka's war-ridden zones.
Kaatru veliyidaiis her latest release. An action thriller picture of mani ratnam is based on the story of an Indian army pilot Varun chakrapani and his romance with doctor Leela while he was taken as a prisoner by Pakistani forces. Released in the cinemas on 7th April 2017 the film received an average response.
