Akshay tells that the total film was shot in 3D with TS5 equipments which are usually used for Hollywood films like Spiderman , Transformers, etc. Pizza was produced by UTV movies and was released on 18th July 2014 . But in an interview he said that right from his childhood people have been asking him about having any family bonding with Nagarjuna’s family; he replied of not knowing the details and also said that three or four generations back they might have had the bonding but at the moment they have no connections with Nagarjuna’s family . Akshay in an interview said that he isn’t comfortable in directing a sing and dance routine film . It’s something he doesn’t like and won’t be happy in producing or directing . The director however , clarified that he would not mind directing great ‘masala’ entertainers . Akshay feels that though his movie Pizza is a remake , the approach was fresh due to the use of 3D technology.

He said that this horror-thriller in 3D was an added advantage and that will immerse audiences in a never before experienced atmosphere . Most newcomers would hesitate to start their careers with a remake , but Akkineni isn’t one of them .
