, who started it all, has something to say. In a recent interview, he said he is happy to see how far his movie has gone.
According to Jeethu, ‘Drishyam’ had a universal approach to it. It talked about family and affection. So, whether it is successful in its original format or its adaptation doesn’t make any difference. He also revealed how he felt about the fame acquired by the movie’s Hindi adaptation. According to Jeethu, those who love the Hindi version know its origin, so he does not need to state the obvious.
Released in 2013, ‘Drishyam ‘[starring Mohanlal in the Malayalam version] was loosely inspired by a Japanese novel ‘The story of Suspect X’. It was further remade into Telugu and Tamil before Nishikant Kamath adapted the film into Hindi, starring Ajay Devgn and Tabu in prominent roles. Amongst all the adaptations, the legacy of the Hindi adaptation is much talked about, and even the original film’s makers have acknowledged the same.
