He acted and directed in several TV serials on Malaysian TV channels for more than nine years at a stretch. His acting has enriched highly popular Malay mega serials like “Gerak Khas” has been on the air since 1999 and is the longest serial aired in that country till now. As Kumaresan’s acting was loved by the audience, eventually he got a break in Malaysian films too.

He proceeded further in his film career and acted as the lead role in six Malaysian films, all of which were quite successful in the box-office. His ambition, however, was to work in a Tamil film from an original Tamil Film industry or “Kollywood” (as it is fondly known, after the names of Kodambakkam and Hollywood). Finally, his wish was fulfilled as he got the chance of both directing and acting as the main role of a film named ‘ Maindhan’.

In this movie, he is paired with the Tamil actress, Shaila Nair, along with another actress named Punnagai Poo Geetha. As this film is basically about the issues relating to illegal drifting and child trafficking, Kumaresan plays the role of a drifter. This film is supposed to be released in August 2014, in Malaysia, but the date is yet to be fixed for its release in India; though its audio release has already taken place in Chennai.

Kumaresan hopes to act in more Tamil films of Kollywood and be successful here as that has already been achieved in Malaysia.
