Visu is a very respectable figure in the South Indian industry. His actual name is M. R. Vishwanathan, and Visu is his stage name. He is a writer, a director, a film and television actor as well as a talk show host. He was born on Jul 1, 1945, in the state of Tamil Nadu in India. He is the eldest of his brothers, Rajamani, Kishmu and Kuriakose Ranga. He tied the knot with Uma, a homemaker. He has three beautiful daughters Lavanya, Sangeetha and Kalpana. His association with the stage goes back to his school days when he was a stage artist. Professionally, he kick-started his career as an assistant to the great K. Balachander and continued to do so until he gained the experience and expertise to become a director himself. He indulged into acting through his own directorial, called Kudumbam Oru Kadambam. The movie is remembered for its storyline, comic timing and dialogues and was translated and remade in various languages. He also made movies like Samsaram Adhu Minsaram. He delivered a blockbuster in 1983 called Manal Kayiru. He was a part of numerous plays, dramas like Konjam Yosinga Boss which is a Tamil drama. Apart from a career in the industry, Visu supports those who are underprivileged and not as entitled as the others through his foundation. He utilizes the media and television programme Visuvin Makkal Arangam as a communication tool to reach out to the masses. He was the host of the show, for many years. Visu and his movies lost magic after over a decade, and he was spotted more on television. Most of his career was full of success stories, but he faced some failures as well, like Raja Thanthiram which release in 1984.
