Sadiq Khan is a budding director in Kollywood who had worked with directors like AR Murugadoss and Lingusamy. Sadiq has worked with Murugadoss in movie Ghajini. He became an independent film director for Thollaikkatchi' produced by Raja Bala Senthil. According to the director, 'his debut film 'Thollaikatchi’, is an upcoming Tamil romantic comedy film which has screenplay and script writing too by him.  He came to notice for assisting his mentor like Murugadoss and Lingusamy for Hindi Ghajini with Aamir Khan and Anjaan with Suriya.

The debutante director Sadiq approached Ashwin to play the lead role who earlier had worked with ‘ Mankatha Click to look into! >> Read More... ’, ‘ Megha Click to look into! >> Read More... ’ and ‘Itharkuthaane Aasapaataai Balakumara’. He also roped in Kumki, Mynaa, and Kayal fame editor LVK Doss for editing the film.

Art director Sekar is being assigned the job to design the sets and Dharan will be composing the music for the film. The film has been delayed for unknown reasons. The film is not a kind of film which Murugadoss has done earlier. ‘Thollaikkatchi’ is based on village theme backdrop and there will be no city folk character in the movie.

Why Sadiq has chosen to move away from action flicks is still unknown to us.  The film was extensively shot in Pollachi and now the shooting details are kept under secret. One will be able to draw some conclusion when the film gets released.
