Balaji Sakthivel
Balaji Sakthivel is an extrusive director and writer of the Tamil film industry. He is famous for his movie Vazhakku Enn 18/9, for which he has won awards. He was born in 1964 in Dindigul, Tamil Nadu. He is known for Samurai (2002), Kalloori (2007) and, Ra Ra Rajasekhar (2018). Balaji Sakthivel started his career as an assistant director under Shankar Shanmugam.
The first movie directed by him was Samurai, released in 2002, although it was not a big hit regardless of receiving firm reviews. He took a break of two years and came up with Kaadhal under Shankar Shanmugam’s production house, S Pictures Banner. Balaji Sakthivel always promotes new actors in his movies. His latest movie Yaar Ivargal has a chunk of new artists.
Many newcomers such as Bharat, Sandhya, Ajay, and Kishore made their debut and prompt appreciation. The plot of the movie Yaar Ivargal is interesting. Balaji calls it an action movie with a realistic touch. It begins with a guy wanting to murder someone and later finding out that he is already dead. The film unwraps the story of youngsters wanting to kill someone.
Balaji Sakthivel had an interesting way to promote his movie. He used to paint black and white posters of his cast members on walls, in Chennai. They had influential lines written on them. The movie Yaar Ivargal is being produced by Vijay Milton who is also a cinematographer, under his banner Rough Note Productions. He has also worked with Balaji Sakthivel on movies like Kaadhal and Vazhakku Enn 18/9.
His film Ra Ra Rajasekhar, headlining a beginner Mathivanan, is yet to hit the screens. Balaji has won many awards for his movie Vazhakku Enn 18/9. He has won a Best Director Filmfare Award, Best Feature Film, National Award in Tamil, and Vijay Award for Best Director. He is married to Kalanithi.
She is the Head of the Department in Guru Nanak Arts and Science College in Chennai. They have a daughter named Dhanya and a Son. They now live in Ramapuram, Chennai.
