S. Saravanan is a cinematographer-turned-director who made his directorial debut with Silambattam that released in 2008. The film was the 25th film for "Lakshmi Movie Makers” which was launched in AVM Studios. The film was launched at AVM Studios on 7 December 2007 and a 40- member of the unit had participated in the 10-day long shoot of the movie at a stretch for ten days.

Sana Khan & cameraman Mathi, choreographer
Kanal Kannan to back the project. The film was shot in Pollachi, Theni, Ooty, and even Sri Lanka. It is said that for a song sequence the producer of the movie had spent Rs 70 lakhs and the song was picturized for 10 days.
The film was produced by three producers K. Muralidharan, V. Swaminathan and T. S. Rangarajan. Music by
Yuvan Shankar Raja and cinematography by Yuvan Shankar Raja and editing by
Don Max is another credit for the movie.

The nature of film production means that filming can take place at any time of the day and this happened once when the unit of the film had to picturize a song sequence. For this song, a set was put up for a cost of Rs. 70 lakhs and the shooting was picturized for 10 days.

Sippai’ which has screenplay by him and the producer is G V G Raju. He is directing the film which is set for release in April 2018.

Saravanan has also visualized the script while guiding the whole crew and actors in fulfillment of his new dream.
Saravanan is married to yesteryear actress Sangita who assists the director while shooting of any film is in progress.
