S. U. Arun Kumar is a Tamil film director and writer. He was born on 1st January 1983 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He is a young, talented, smart, director. Till date he has not done more than two movies but these two movies that he has done is different from each other. One movie is comedy whereas the other one is on action thrill. So, as we get from here, there is a huge difference in between these two movies. S. U. Arun Kumar has superbly managed the script and kept everything to make it a success and loved by people. And as wanted by Gods grace he got what he wanted, people loved both his movies. Arun started his career by writing a script for his first film.

He named his debut film as ‘’ Pannaiyarum Padminiyum’’. It was a comedy drama. Pannaiyarrum Padminiyum was produced by M. R. Ganesh and the music composer was Justin Prabhakaran. The cast of the movie was ' Vijay Sethupathi', 'Bala Saravana', 'Jayaprakash', ' Aishwarya Rajesh', and ' Tulasi' in leading roles and Sneha and many more were there in supporting roles. Arun got best stars for his movie. The shooting of the film began from January 2013 and was released on 7th February 2014. ‘’Pannaiyarum Padminiyum’’ was also screened at the International Film Festival such as Prague Film Festival, 12th Chennai International Film Festival(CIIF), Habitat Film Festival, Jaguar Film Festival, and 7th Bengaluru International Film Festival (BIFFES) in which it won the special jury award. Not only this, S. U. Arun Kumar’s Pannaiyarum Padminiyum was the only Tamil movie to get selected for screening at 19th International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK).

After his first movie, Arun started off with his second script where he changed his mind. He thought of something new. In this movie instead of making it a comedy, he went for an action thriller. The story was very well written by Arun. All the characters, elements, all stunt everything was amazing in the film. He named the movie ‘’SETHUPATHI’’ which was directed by him, produced by Shan Sutharsan, music composer was Niwas Prasanna, and the other cast were- Vijay Sethupathi, Remya Nambeesam, Linga, Vela Ramamoorthy, Vivek Prasanna, Master Raghav, and many more. As everything was set to begin shooting, the shoot commenced from September 2015.

The shooting took place in Madurai, Chennai, and Pollachi and it lasted for 50 days. The movie was released on 19th February 2016 and was a huge success. People appreciated the film very much. Everyone those who watch the film gave a positive review which was itself a big compliment for our director S. U. Arun Kumar. Both his movies gave him fame and appreciation from people. People now are waiting for his next movie eagerly on which he is working on. With an interview with Behind wood, Arun Kumar, said ‘’ My next film will definitely be not a police story and I would like to try something different. However, it is also likely to be an action based film. I have the story, but, I have to develop it’’. This statement clearly states he is working on a new story and new movie is about to come.

S. Saravanan is a cinematographer-turned-director who made his directorial debut with Silambattam that released in 2008. The film was the 25th film for "Lakshmi Movie Makers” which was launched in AVM Studios. The film was launched at AVM Studios on 7 December 2007 and a 40- member of the unit had participated in the 10-day long shoot of the movie at a stretch for ten days. The cast included actor Silambarasan, Prabhu, Sneha and Sana Khan & cameraman Mathi, choreographer Kanal Kannan to back the project. The film was shot in Pollachi, Theni, Ooty, and even Sri Lanka. It is said that for a song sequence the producer of the movie had spent Rs 70 lakhs and the song was picturized for 10 days. The film was produced by three producers K. Muralidharan, V. Swaminathan and T. S. Rangarajan. Music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and cinematography by Yuvan Shankar Raja and editing by Don Max is another credit for the movie. If anyone wants to become a film director, he should understand how works of S. Saravanan was not clocking-off at 5 pm every day. For any long shooting schedule, he was expected to be working long, irregular and unsociable hours. The nature of film production means that filming can take place at any time of the day and this happened once when the unit of the film had to picturize a song sequence. For this song, a set was put up for a cost of Rs. 70 lakhs and the shooting was picturized for 10 days. After 'Silambattam', S Saravanan is busy with his next project ‘Sippai’ which has screenplay by him and the producer is G V G Raju. He is directing the film which is set for release in April 2018.   In this film, Gautham Karthik is paired opposite Lakshmi Menon, Yuvan Shankar Raja, and Manikandan Saravanan is the cinematographer. The film will be a college entertainer that focuses those who fight for their right are the real soldier in the country. The film ‘Sippai’ is in post-production process and the sources close to the unit has affirmed that the director has taken full control of the artistic and dramatic aspects of the movie. Saravanan has also visualized the script while guiding the whole crew and actors in fulfillment of his new dream. Saravanan is married to yesteryear actress Sangita who assists the director while shooting of any film is in progress.
