Muktha Srinivasan is a famous film director in the Tamil language. His actual name is V. Srinivasan, but he is popularly known as Muktha Srinivasan. He entered into this industry in the year 1947. He initially worked as a Senior Assistant to T. R. Sundaram as a coach of dialogue delivery to the artists. He also worked with M. Karunanidhi, the Chief Minister in the Tamil historical fiction film named Manthiri Kumari. He also worked with many artists like Anjali Devi, T. R. Mahalingam, S. Balachandar, Madhuri Devi, and L. V. Prasad. He was also an assistant of the director named K. Ramnoth.

He directed the film "Mudhalali", which was his first film in the year 1957. The film won an award presented by the then President of India, Dr. Rajendra Prasad. In the year 1962, he then started the work of production along with Muktha V. Ramaswamy, his brother under the named Muktha Films. He was one of the contributors to the formation of the Tamil Film Producer Council. He served the council and the South Indian film chamber of commerce as a president. He was also a member and a Board Member of the Award Films Committee and Film Censor Board respectively.

He directed three films named "Paanjali", "Thamarai Kulam", and "Naalu Veli Nilam" in the year 1959. He was the director and producer of the films named "Panithirai", and "Idayathil Nee" in the years 1961 and 1963. He directed films like "Poojaikku Vandha Malar", "Then Mazhai", "Magane Kel", " Bommalattam", "Ninaivil Nindraval", "Ayiram Poi", etc. from 1965 to 1969. In the year 1971 and 1972, he was the director and producer of the films named "Arunodhayam", and "Thava Pudhalvan". In the year 1973, he directed the film " Suryakanthi" and served as a producer and director of the film named "Anbai Thedi". He worked for many films like "Cinema Paithiyam", "Perum Pugazhum", "Andharangam", "Balaparitchai", " Imayam", " Polladhavan", " Avan Aval Adhu", "Andaman Kadhali", "Keezh Vaanam Sivakkum", "Sivappu Sooriyan", " Simla Special", "Iru Medhaigal", "Thambathigal", " Nayagan", " Kodai Mazhai", "Chinna Chinna Aasaigal", " Kathanayagan", " Rajapandi", "Ethir Kaatru", " Pathayeram Kodi", "Kangalin Vaarthaigal", etc. during his career.

He received many awards like National Award, Best Film "Balaparitchai", Best Science Fiction Film "Avan-Aval-Adhu", Best Film "keezh vanam sivakkum", Best Film Director "ParitChaikku Nermaachu" from the state government of Tamil Nadu. He is a follower of Mouna-Viradham. On holy days, he would stay silent and survive on water. He spun his clothes in the early days of his life with a hand machine called Raatai Chakkaram. He was appointed as the General Secretary of the Tamil Maanila Congress when started by Gk Moopanar in the year 1996. The Tamil Maanila Congress and the Indian National Congress were merged with Mr. Gk Vasan. At present, he is working under Mrs. Sonia Gandhi.

Prabhu Solomon

Prabhu Solomon is a Tamil Director, writer and producer. He shot to fame with the film Mynaa (2010), a Romantic Tragedy. Prabhu made his debut in 1999 with Kannodu Kanbathellam and did not have a very successful career until Mynaa happened in 2010. He was born on 7 May 1969 in Neyveli, Tamil Nadu. He completed his education at St. Paul’s Matriculation Higher Secondary School and got his Masters degree from Chennai in English Literature. The only access to movies for him in his early days was the only cinema in the town. Prabhu started his career in 1991 as a stunt double and junior artist and he continued it for three years. It was his strategy to be associated with the film industry. His first project as the stunt double was in 1994 when he became stunt double for Sarath Kumar in Namma Annachi. He was waiting for an opportunity like this. Getting recognized and making contacts was accomplished when he met Sundar C on the sets of Namma Annachi. Sundar C was the assistant director of the film back then. Prabhu worked in many of Sundar’s movies He became an assistant director for Sundar’s film, Murai Maman (1995) and later worked in the award winning movie Kadhal Kottai (1996) and worked with Agathiyan. His first film as a director commenced when he got associated with Anbalaya Films Production House. He completed Murai Mappillai and for his film Kannodu Kanbathellam he cast Raghuvaran and Bhanupriya in the lead roles.   For his next movie, he had a cast ensemble of Sonali Bendre, Suchindra and Arjun. This film received a good response. His other two releases Urise (2001), the Kannada film and remake of Bharathi Kannamma did not do any business at box office and were flops. He had tasted failures quite often over the period. Mynaa, the romantic film set in the background of Kuranagani of Theni District in Tamil Nadu, brought him back to the limelight. His next flick was Kumki. It was the debut film for Vikram Prabhu, son of actor Prabhu and Grandson of actor Sivaji Ganesan. After a break, he came back with a bang with the movie set in the backdrop of 2004 Tsunami incidents. He collected real life stories and assembled them in his script. Kayal did great and was critically acclaimed. He had worked very hard on the scenes that were shot underwater. It is the costliest film in his production so far.
