”, S. B. Khanthan was born in Madras, India. He studied to become a Chartered accountant but soon realized that his true passion was film making and directing. He has also directed several stage plays, short films and documentaries. Khanthan was introduced to the magical world of film and fine arts at a rather young age by his brother, an actor and director T.S.B.K Mouli.
His skill is also said to be hereditary since he is the son of the renowned Harikatha exponent T.S.G.B. Shasrtigal. He was known to be close friends with humorist

, and with him Khanthan dove into the world of travelling shows and has successfully masterminded over 4000 shows for him in the USA, India, Kuwait, Sri Lanka, and Indonesia among others.
He provided the music, choreography and direction to most Crazy Mohan plays. Khanthan also co-directed the first-ever 3D fully computerized animation film produced in India titled “Pandavaas: The 5 Warriors”.
