Rajan Madhav is a film director working predominately in Tamil film and television industry. Besides being a director, he is also a screenwriter based in Chennai. He belongs to the family who appreciates and understands all forms of cinemas, and thus he was lucky enough to have their full support. Rajan was born on 31st may 1975 as Rajan babu Raveendran in Chennai.
He is the son of Raveendran who is a noted music director and his mother Shobhana also belongs to the music industry. It was his father who inspired him a lot to join the film industry. He also has two Brothers
who are involved in the field of music and direction in the cinema world.
Rajan completed his graduation in bachelors of commerce and then started looking forward to beginning his career in film making. He married an assistant director Sandhya who also works in Bollywood in the year 2012. Rajan started his career as an assistant director with shaji Kailas. Next, he worked with him and did a total of six movies. After this when he had just decided to work solely, his father died.
Later he worked with director mysskin as a co-director on the movie anjathey. Released on 14th February 2008 anjathey is a Tamil film which revolves around the story of two friends named Satya and kiruba. In the picture, Satya gets into violence and fighting whereas kiruba works hard to become an inspector but then fate happens, and Satya becomes the sub-inspector.
The movie was a hit. He began his career as a director and writer with the picture man. Released on 30th September 2011 it is a thriller based on the story of two people who make a deal leading to murder. The film had been nominated for SIIMA award for best debutant director at Chennai international film festival in 2011.
After a long break of six years, he came up with another film ula in 2017. Ula is again a thriller that has released just on 12th March this year. The music direction in the movie has been done by his brother Sajan Madhav. He is coming up with another feature kattam which is set to release in 2018.
