Vidhu Prathap is an eminent playback singer who is often credited for singing in Malayalam movies. He even had tried his hand in singing in a few Tamil, Telugu and Kannada movies. He often shares some stage performances for Malayalee people residing in other states of India and even abroad. Although he sang his first song for a movie when he was a student of class IV, he got his real break in ‘Devdasi’ (1999), rendering the song 'Pon Vasantham' in the movie, which was a tough classical song for a young singer. He got another opportunity as a playback singer in the film ’Niram’(1999) for a duet song ‘Shukiriya Shukiriya’ which was composed by Vidyasagar. The song became a favorite of the masses, and he got a chance to sing songs in many Malayalam movies year after year. 

In those days, there was a growth and demand of young generation actors in Mollywood such as Dileep, Kunchakko Boban, and Prithviraj; they needed a young voice to suit their style, and hence, Vidhu Pratap became the ultimate voice of these heroes for a decade or so. This made his songs become popular, and he got a chance to become an accomplished singer in Mollywood. He sang for some landmark movies in Mollywood. 

Vidhu won the Kerala State Film Award for the songs ‘'Kalame Kaikolluka’ and 'Sukhamani Nilavu' from the film ‘Nammal’. He was trained under music directors like Perumbavoor G Ravindranath, Devarajan, Mohan Sithara and many more. He has sung songs in over 150 films so far. It was Illayaraja, who introduced the singer in Tamil movies. His debut Tamil movie was 'Solla Marantha Kathai' (2002) and later he gave many hits in Tamil movies. He has sung maximum songs for music composer Alex Paul. The singer was born on September 1, 1980, in Thrissur, Kerala. He got married to Deepthi Prasad, a TV anchor who is also a trained dancer.

Sujatha Mohan (Sujatha or Baby Sujatha) is one of the most prolific singers after S. Janaki, P. Susheela, and K.S. Chitra. She has sung nearly 10,000 songs in many Indian languages and has performed over 5000 live concerts in her career. She came to spotlight while singing songs with K.J. Yesudas in musical concerts. This fetched her recognition, and she got her first break as a playback singer when she was in the sixth standard.  Sujatha’s debut was in the year 1975 when she sang for a Malayalam movie ‘Tourist Bungalow.' She then sang for two other movies ‘Kamam Krodham Moham’ (music composer Shyam) and ‘Aparadhi’ (music composer Salil Chowdhury ). During this time, she also sang non-filmi songs. In 1998, she had sung for Deepa Mehta’s film ‘Earth.' She had the privilege to sing for a song "Ishwar Allah"  with Anuradha Sriram and the song’s lyrics was by Javed Akhtar, and the music was composed by A. R. Rahman. In 1998, she sang a song ‘Tum Ho Meri Nigahon Mein" with Hariharan for another A. R. Rahman’s composition for film ‘Kabhi Na Kabhi‘.  Her next Hindi movie was a blockbuster movie ‘Taal’. In this movie, she got a chance to sing the song ‘"Ishq Bina" with Anuradha Sriram, Sonu Nigam, and A. R. Rahman.  In 'Pukar', she sang a song "Hai Jaana " for Madhuri Dixit.  In Tamil movies, Sujatha needs no introduction, She has sung many popular solo and duet songs. However, she made her Tamil debut with Illayaraja‘s composition. She sang for films like ‘Gayathri,' ‘Johnny,' ‘Kavikuyil’ and ‘Ilamai Kolangal’ for Ilaiyaraja. It was in 1981, she got married and took a sabbatical from singing and then made her comeback in 1988.  In 1992-93, she sang many songs for composer A.R. Rahman for movies like Roja ("Kadhal Rojave"), Pudhiya Mugam ("Netru Illatha Matram"), Gentleman ("Enveetu Thottathil"), Kizhakku Cheemayile ("Aathangara Marame"), Duet ("Kathirikka Kathirikka") and Kadhalan ("Kaatru Kuthirayile") etc. All these songs affirmed her position in her career.  Sujatha’s association with composer Rahman continued with films like ‘Minsara Kanavu’, ‘Love Birds’, ‘Muthu’,’Bombay ‘, ‘Jeans’ and many more blockbuster movies. It was A. R. Rahman, who gave backing to this singer, and she successfully replaced S. Janaki and P. Susheela.  This singer had also given her vocal for music composers Deva, Vidyasagar, S.A. Rajkumar. Yuvan Shankar Raja, and Karthik Raja. In Malayalam movies, she had a long association with Vidyasagar, while in Telugu movies her songs were composed by Mani Sharma. She had recently appeared as the judge in many musical shows such as IDEA star singer, AIRTEL super singer, and Star Singer Junior that are being aired in many private TV channels. Gayatri Asokan

Gayatri Asokan is a female playback singer in Malayalam movies who is trained vigorously in classical vocal music. She is a versatile singer who is an expert in singing Bhajans, Hindustani music, and Ghazals. This singer was born on March 2, 1979. She has a moderately successful career in singing in Malayalam movies. Her life was very much connected to music, and she was keen on learning more on her musical journey. She also did some albums and jingles to understand the music technique. Moreover, she has performed on stages with eminent playback singers like Yesudas, S.P.Balasubramanyam, S. Janaki, Shankar Mahadevan, Jayachandran, Madhu Balakrishnan and Pradip Somasundaran.    Gayatri does some private albums for ‘Art of Living Foundation’ which is run by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar in Bengaluru. In this connection, she also has released an album for the foundation in September 2006. This album was released by musical company HMV worldwide. The singer has undergone training in Carnatic music and Hindustani music from classic vocalists like Pandit Vinayak Malharrao Torvi and a versatile vocalist, Dr. Alka Deo Marulkar. She showed a lot of promise as a singer but could not quite take her career to the next level. Like some of her peers, she was unable to get the leading music directors to help in her career. However, she made her break with the song ‘Deena Dayalo Rama" for the film "Arayannagalude Veedu". The film had music by composer Raveendran. Later she had sung for various music directors such as Vidyasagar, Ramesh Narayan, Johnson, Raveendran, Bennet Veetraag, Gopi Sunder, P.V. Mansoor, Bijibal, etc.  Gayatri received Kerala State Film Award for the song ‘Enthe Nee Kanna’ from the film ‘Sasneham Sumitra’ in the year 2003. She had also anchored a Ghazal reality show ’Khayal’ on Media One TV and was also a judge for a music talent search show in television. She has sung famous duet songs with Yesudas in a film ‘Naran’ (2005) and sung a duet with Suchith Suresan in the film ‘Ritu’ (2005). She appears predominantly on many musical shows that are being aired on many TV channels in Kerala.
