Syam Pushkaran

T Sivakumar is an indian actor and a visual artist who has played a vast range of roles, both leading and supporting, in the tamil cinema. His first appearance was in the movie kakkum karangal in 1965. Syam pushkaran is a scriptwriter well known for his work in malayalam cinema. He began his journey in the industry with salt n pepper co-written with dileesh nair.

Syam wrote screenplays for famous films like 22 female kottayam, da thadiya, idukki gold, rani padmini and the recent one mayaanadhi. He got married to architect ms. Unnimaya prasad in 2012.

He was born as a second child to ms. Geetha devi and mr. N. Pushkaran on 6th september 1984. His birthplace was thuravoor town in alappuzha district, kerala.

He did his schooling from government u.p. school and t.d. higher secondary school, thuravoor. He has done graduation in fashion designing from mangalore university. But because he had a keen interest in the film industry, he further attained post graduation diploma in digital film making from dc film school at trivandrum. He then initially landed up being an assistant director after which he got the idea of salt n pepper which initiated his journey towards screenwriting. In 2012, he wrote the script for the film 'da thadiya' directed by aashiq abu, along with dileesh nair and abhilash s kumar.

He further wrote sethulakshmi segment in the film 5 sundarikal. He also presented his talent of script writing in idduki gold, another film by aashiq abu. He also wrote dialogues for 'iyobinte pusthakam' by amal neerad. He wrote the script for rani padmini starring manju warrier and rima kallingal as the leading roles.

Syam has written most for actor fahadh faasil , and all of these films have proven to be milestones for the actor. Another script written by syam was for 'maheshtinte prathikaram' for which the national film awards jury selected director dileesh pothan's story of sweet revenge as the best malayalam film of 2016.

Also, they awarded its scenarist syam pushkaran with the best original screenplay writer. Maheshinte was the first film for which sham worked as a solo scenarist.

The film has been inspired by real-life incidents and personalities in syam's hometown. He once said that "the more local we go, the more international malayalam cinema will become." the famous scenarist confessed that he begins writing only after approving the locations because he visualizes the stories first. He is one of those new age artists who follow a realistic wave in the malayalam cinema.
