Roy Mathew Manappallil

Roy Matthew is a Mollywood script writer. He was born on July 2, 1962, in Aranmulla, India. He is known as Roma. He studied at Saint Thomas High School Kos and Cherry India in 1971. He completed his higher studies from Saint Thomas College, India in 1977 and graduated in 1982. He has worked for 40 years as a director, story and script writer, actor, presenter, and event coordinator. He was a member of the Kerala State Television Award jury for fiction movies in 2014. He was the chairman of Dia Entertainment and Media Society Dreams. He was the president of the Media Guild of Kerala associated with the national union of journalists. He was a jury member for the talent segment for Miss Glam, Miss World, Miss Asia, Miss Queen and Miss South India.

He was the chairman of the Minnale television awards committee. He was a public relations officer in BSNL at the Ernakulam district in visual media. He has written and directed the feature film Thooliaka in 2022 in the Indian media language Malayalam. He started as an associate director on the film Swargam in 1984. He wrote the script for the films Swapnangal Okkeyum Panku Veykkam and coordinated the film Nammude Naadu. He has also acted in several TV serials Arabikkadalinte Raani, which was one of the first TV seals in Malayalam.

He has also directed many musical programs and over a hundred video albums he has written scripts and interviewed many celebrities’ personalities Roy coordinated many events, including Onam programs in Jakarta in the years 2006 and 2010. He has published many stories and articles in periodicals and written lyrics for many television programs, he has also received many awards like the Star Entertainment Media Talent Award in 2002, Thirumanas Television Award in 2002, Smruti Television Award in 2002 Bhadra Mini Screen Award in 2004, Film City Magazine Excellence Award in 2005, International Film and Television Services Media Excellence Award in 2008, Kannur Film Chamber Dia Ratnam Award and Media Award for Excellence in Visual Media.
