Malik Mohammed Hassan also known as M.M Hassan is an Indian National Congress leader and a former minister in the Kerala government. He was also the previous head of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC). He has more than 20 years of experience serving the Indian National Congress in the Kerala Legislative Assembly. M.M. Hassan was born in 1947 in the state capital of Thiruvananthapuram. He is an LLB graduate. During his time in school, Hassan was one of the most involved members of Akhila Kerala BalaJana Sakhyam, one of the largest children’s organizations in Asia run by Malayala Manorama, where he was chosen to serve as the "League of Petty Officers." At this age, Hassan became aware of his capacity for mentorship and leadership. He became interested in politics during his college days and joined the Kerala students union (KSU).

Hassan became a prominent member of KSU and held many positions to serve KSU. Later he was elected as the Kerala Student Union President. He then rose to the position of University Union Chairman. After that, he was chosen as a Student Representative to the Kerala University Senate in 1969 while serving in the EMS ministry. In addition to serving on the Kerala University Senate from 1969 to 1972, he has also served on the boards of the Kerala Sahitya Academy and the Kerala State Education Advisory Board. He was also the journal editor of "Kalasala" from 1972 to 1974. He has served as the President of the Kerala State Co-operative Housing Federation. He also served as the National Co-operative Housing Federation's Vice-Chairman. Due to his dedication, Mr. Hassan was able to quickly ascend to the positions of KSU President and State Secretary of the Youth Congress.

After completing his education, he was elected as the MLA for the Kazhakootam Constituency in 1980. He was also Trivandrum's District Congress President at the time. Later, in 2017, Mr. Hassan was appointed president of the KPCC. He took several initiatives such as Janasree Sustainable Development Mission, Organic Farming Campaign, Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse, Anti-Hartal Act, NORKA-Roots, etc. for the well-being of the people and society. Currently, Mr. Hassan is the UDF Convenor. He was elected to the Kerala Legislative Assembly five times, twice from the Kazhakootam constituency Trivandrum West. He served as the representative for the Kayamkulam district in the Kerala Legislative Assembly in 2001. From 2001 until 2004, he was the Minister of Information and Parliamentary Affairs in the Ministry led by A.K. Antony.
