Priya Raman is a Tamil actress who entered into Malayalam industry through director I.V. Shashi movie Arthana in 1993. Before that she debuted in actor Rajnikanth production movie Valli in 1993. Priya shot to fame in Mollywood through her ultra-modern Avatar in the film Sainyam but she got her recognition in Malayalam in the Mammootty starrer movie No 1 Snehatheeram Bangalore North in 1995. In this movie she plays a bubbly rich lady named Hema who agree to act as mother to Mammooty’s children. Her smile and her expressive eyes were well noticed and she became a star in Kerala. She had many movies pouring in and some of them were well appreciated. Her role in Kumkumacheppu, as a girl who ends up being a reason of separation of couple, was applauded. She carried her unique way of being a naughty, prankster and ultra mordern girl in most of her movies. In 1997 she appeared in Kalyanappittannu with Dileep, Bhoopathi with , Asuravamsam and Thumboli Kadappuram with Manoj K Jayan and with Mohanlal. In 2003 she produced the film Bheeshmar. Meanwhile she also acted in Tamil movies.

She entered into the television industry through Ekta Kapoor’s Kavyanjali in Malayalam playing the role of Anjali. Her well noticed serial was director K.K Rajeev’s serial Orma in Asianet. It is the story of Gely who loses her memory, husband and her only daughter in a fatal accident. She gets remarried to a businessman who has his own children from his previous marriage. The twists and turns happen when Gely gets her memory back and gets to know that her daughter is alive. She also featured in the serial Swarnamayooram in surya Tv which told of two friends Krishnaveni and Seethalakshmi and how their relationship gets affected with an unexpected event. Her Tamil debut was in a Vijay TV serial Durga.

She was married to actor/director Ranjith in 1999. The couples are divorced after a 13 year married life. Their children, 7 year old Aditya and 3 year old Akash live with her.
