Shine Tom Chacko is a renowned film actor in the Malayalam film industry. He was born on September 15, 1983, in Chalakudy, Kerala, India to CP Chacko and Mariya Carmel. He started his career as an Assistant Director to Kamal, a Malayalam filmmaker. After 9 years of working together, he finally laid his hands and venture into acting through Kamal’s 2011 drama film, Gaddama. The same year, he played as dubbing director in Aashiq Abu’s romantic comedy film, Salt N’ Pepper.
This was followed by several supporting roles in films like Ee Adutha Kaalathu (2012), Chapters (2012),
Annayum Rasoolum (2013), and
Masala Republic (2014). In 2014, he starred in Binu S’ fantasy comedy film, Ithihasa, opposite Anusree in the lead roles. The film earned positive reviews from critics and audiences. It turned out to be a sleeper hit and one of the highest-grossing films in the Malayalam film industry in 2014. He was later cast in Vishwasam… Athallae Ellaam, alongside Shankar and
Ansiba Hassan in the lead roles.
Unlike Ithihasa, Vishwasam failed to make it to the box office and received a B-grade comedy. In 2015, he starred in Sibi Malail’s Saigal Paadukayaanu, together with
Remya Nambeesan and Hareesh Perady. In January 2015, Chacko was arrested for alleged narcotics possession and returned to the industry after a year and a half, with his kitty full with big projects including the multi-starrer, Kammatipaadam, and
Midhun Manuel Thomas’ children’s film, Annmariya Kalippilaanu. This 2017, he is set to appear in films like Godha, Tiyaan,
Third World Boys, Alamara, Isabella, Prethamunde Sookshikuka, etc.
