The filmmaker called out the stakeholders in Mollywood for remaining silent on grievous issues like substance abuse, especially what happened recently during the shoot of the movie Soothravakyam. The filmmaker also cited the example of Thilakan, who was suspended from many Malayalam film bodies for merely speaking out against the drug crisis plaguing Mollywood.

In case you are not aware, Vincy Aloshious attracted attention for naming Shine Tom Chacko, and accusing him of promoting substance abuse. The Association of Malayalam Movie Artists has taken note of the case and has assured of all possible action.

Interestingly, Chacko was recently arrested in a similar case after a raid was carried out by the police authorities. Though the Malayalam actor had managed to escape the raid, he was compelled to surrender. Chacko is currently out on bail, though he has denied the allegations posed by Aloshious.

This is not the only controversy that has plagued Mollywood in recent times. Since the past few years, multiple cases of sexual harassment continue to spoil the image of Malayalam cinema, especially after Justice Hema Committee report pointed out the problems in bold letters. A few actors like Siddique were also arrested and interrogated in this regard.
