He is one of the national award-winning Malayalam film director and screenwriter. Before this, he worked as an assistant professor in the direction and film television institute of India Pune. He is also a professor of St. Joseph college of communication. He has a son Sidharth Siva who is a reputed award-winning actor and director. His movie as a director was Ormaynde Theerangalil in 1994.
This is one of the best films in 1994 and earned a national award. Other films directed by him are Vembanad and Palathulliperuvallam. Both the films received a special jury award at Kerala state film awards. His son is a talented young director cum actor who also received national awards for his three films. His first film was Jalarekha in 1980. He also directed a few television serials and documentaries.
