Antony Eastman

Antony Kuriakose also known as Antony Eastman was a renowned Indian director and writer in the Malayalam film Industry. He was born on the 26th of August, 1946, in Chowannur, Kingdom of Cochin, British India. Muringatheri Kuriakose and Martha Kuriakose were his parents. He studied at Chowannur St. Thomas School and Kunnamkulam Government High School. Before becoming one of the famous directors in the industry, Antony started as a photographer in the 1960s, clicking pictures for magazines and newspapers. He then opened his studio, Eastman, in Ernakulam, and shortly after that, he came to be recognized as Antony Eastman. He made his debut as a director and producer in the film industry with Inaye Thedi in 1981.

He then produced another film in 1995, Parvathy Parniyam. He also worked in the Camera and Electrical Department as a still photographer for Rachana (1983), and, Koodum Thedi (1985).

He was also a story writer for films such as Ee Thanalil Ithiri Neram (1985), Ee Lokam Ivide Kure Neram (1985), Ivide Ee Theerathu (1985), Ice Cream (1986), Thaskara Veeran Click to look into! >> Read More... (2005), and, Climax (2013). For the movie Mrudula (1990), he worked as a screenplay, story, and dialogue writer. He married Mary and had two children, a son Ganji, and a daughter Mini. He actively participated at the Gramika Cultural Centre at Kuzhikattussery, Kerala. Antony Eastman died on the 3rd of July, 2021, at the age of 75, in Thumboor, Thrissur, Kerala.
