Vishnu Sarma is a cinematographer and editor who was born in Chalakudy, Thrissur and has worked in the Malayalam Cinema. He has completed his education from Asan Memorial College of Arts and Science and got his bachelor degree from there only. He has been there for the year 2009 to 2012. He knows different languages like Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, and English.
He has done many films and has a good experience in cinematography. He has a baby face with a handsome personality. He has worked in the film named “'Escape from Uganda' which was his most awaited film. He couldn’t expect a better break other than this. Vishnu works as freelancer cinematographer, director, and writer.
In the year 2010, he was employed by the company named “Short Films.” And now he is currently employed at CAT Entertainments as an “In House Cinematographer.” He joined CAT Entertainments in the year 2012. Some of the movies in which Vishnu has done a significant work are Salt Mango, Kunjiramayanam, Escape from Uganda, etc. His debut film’s name was “Escape from Uganda” directed by
Rajesh Nair. It was released in the year 2013.
He worked as a DOP (Director of Photography) in this film which was in the thriller genre. His second film was “Meendum” directed by
Mithran Jawahar. He was a bit nervous as it was a bigger film than the earlier one. The commercial set was very big as compared to “Escape from Uganda.” Vishnu Sarma said that everyone was supportive and the crew member used to appreciate him by saying “Shot Ok Chetta.” Chetta is a word used in the Malayalam language which means elder brother. Vishnu Sarma was just 21 years of age when he completed his two films as a Director of Photography. He was having an interest in Wedding photography because of which he has come to Malayalam Cinema.
He studied Visual Communication at the University of Madras. This was the time when he started developing his interest in photography. He has also done many ad films. He is currently 23 years of age.
Vishnu got his break by making short films, particularly, Oru Thundu Padam which was directed by
Basil Joseph. It was his first time when he went to a proper film set during the shooting of his film named “Escape from Uganda.” The director of the film- Rajesh has taught him and given him the responsibility, and he quickly learned his job. His inspiration is his surroundings, the subject of the film and the movies he grew up watching.
