Light Is What Brights It Up
Lighting Technicians work under the Gaffer and are in charge of all the electrical and artificial lights on the sets. Lights are an important part of the film as the shots, photography and video are all based on the lights. The lights need to be set by the background of the story, actor to be prominent and the set decoration. The light technicians are responsible for the placements of every light in the set and other equipment. They not on place the lights but also control them- density, sharpness, shadow, brightness and the visual effects.
The various electric cables, wires, image patterns, programmed color sequences are taken care of by them. They constantly keep in touch with the director to know the requirements and are also aware of the script. They are connected to the photographers as well for relative positioning in the sets. They try out new techniques and explore new color schemes.
