Nagaraj Kote is an Indian Kannada stand-up comedian, film director, movie writer, astrologer, humourist, comedy artist, and movie comedy actor who mainly works in the Kannada film industry. He is also a theatre artist in Karnataka, India. He was born on April 18, 1965. Nagaraj Kote’s place of birth is Channarayapatna, Hassan in Karnataka, India. He has three younger siblings. His father’s name is Javarappa, and his mother’s name is Rangamma. Nagaraj Kote married Gayathri Kote, with whom he has two sons, namely Nishanth and Yashwanth.
Nagaraj Kote began his acting career in a television serial titled “Sankranti,” directed by his mentor T. S, Nagabharana. His theatre play “Nele” is based on the importance of trees and ranked in a Limca Book of Records. Nagaraj Kote has an acting career spanning more than thirty years in cinema. In 1998, he acted in the Kannada action comedy film “Jagath Khiladi,” directed by Chikkanna. In 2013, he portrayed the role of a politician in the horror thriller Kannada film “Jayammana Maga,” directed & written by Vikas. He played the lead role in Kannada-language romantic drama film “Haalu Thuppa,” directed by Shashank Raj. He has acted in more than thirty-five feature films and innumerable television serials. In 2014, he scripted and directed the Kannada children’s film “ Baanaadi Click to look into! >> Read More... ,” based on the novel ‘Usiru,’ written by himself. The movie got huge success, and he won the Karnataka State Film Awards for the Best Children film.
Nagaraj Kote has done more than five-thousand comedy programs. He has also done corporate comedy events for several big companies, including Kingfisher, Wipro, Hindustan Liver, ITC, Reliance, Nestle, Coffee Board, Toyota, Mahindra, Isuzu, and many more. His famous television show “Comedy Kiladigalu” aired on ZEE TV Kannada, where he did the comedy for more than 1200 minutes. As a writer, Nagaraj Kote has written more than eight Kannada dramas, many short poems, three comedy videos, and a world-famous drama, “Nele.” Four of his dramas were compiled in a book format, “Koteyavara Naalku Natakagalu.” “100 Comedy” and “Honey Honey Kahani” were his bestseller books. Also, he received the prestigious “Karnataka Rajyotsava Award” in 2010 and the “Kempegowda Award” in 2011 for his contribution to cinema.
