Dylan Jones aka Dylan John Jones is an author, editor, and journalist of English descent. He was born in the year of 1960. Dylan went to Chelsea School of Art and Saint Martin's School of Art. His area of study was film, graphic design, and photography.
In 1983, he kick-started his journalism career with a magazine named i-D. Within just one year, he became its editor. In 1987 he joined Arena and worked there as a redactor. In 1999, Condé Nast offered him a job to take over their GQ. GQ focused on men's grooming and fashion. Dylan readily agreed. During his tenure he helped Condé Nast discover writers like Tom Wolfe, Ed Victor, Dominic Lawson, A.A. Gill, and Will Self and tried to give it a political spin as well.
It even featured David Cameron after he became Conservative Party's leader on their cover. GQ won thirty-four awards under Dylan's supervision. He wrote weekly columns for Mail on Sunday. In 2010, Dylan created British Heroes in Afghanistan with the help of David Bailey to recognize all British heroes who are fighting in Afghanistan.
He is the vice-president of Hay Festival. Dylan donated all the profits that Dylan earned from British Heroes in Afghanistan to a charity named Help for Heroes. He also headed Prince's Trust's, Fashion Rocks Monaco in 2007.
In 2011, he was in charge of Norman Mailer Benefit Gala Dinner. British Fashion Council named him as the chairman of 2012 Menswear Committee. Dylan has written several books. Some of them are biographies while others focus on fashion.
The list includes Cameron on Cameron: Conversations with Dylan, The Biographical Dictionary of Popular Music. When Ziggy Played Guitar: David Bowie and Four Minutes that Shook the World, Meaty, Beaty, Big & Bouncy, and much more. However, his most successful book is Mr. Jones' Rules for the Modern Man. It is available in fifteen countries.
He is vocal about his support to Conservative Party and the London Garden Bridge Project. In 2012, Dylan won the Mark Boxer Award's lifetime achievement award for his contribution to the field of journalism. A year later, he became the Officer of the Order of the British Empire for his valuable services to fashion as well as the publishing industry.
