Imogen Heap is a British Songwriter and Singer. Her full name is Imogen Jennifer Heap. She was born on the 9th of December in the year 1977. She was born in London, England. Imogen was fascinated by music at her early age itself. She got classically trained in several instruments, such as Cello, Clarinet, and Piano. She had her schooling from Friends School in Saffron Walden. Her father was a construction rock retailer, whereas her mother was an art therapist. They separated when Imogen was twelve years old. Imogen started writing songs at the age of thirteen. Imogen didn’t get along well with her Music Teacher in boarding school.
So, she had to teach herself various things such as sequencing, music engineering, sampling, and production. She also learned to play drums and guitar all by herself. She later went to The BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology in Croydon, South London. She sang songs such as iMegaphone (1998), Speak For Yourself (2005), Ellipse (2009), Sparks (2014), and many more. Imogen is a good person at heart who does a lot of charity work from the money she earns. Imogen won a Grammy for Best Engineered Album for Ellipse (2010) and Album of the year for 1989 (2016). She also won an Ivor Novello Award, Music Weeks Award, MPG Award, and Drama Desk Award.
