Zahir Abbas Khan

Zaheer Abbas Khan is a British Asian singer, songwriter, and composer. In 2016, he released his debut single ‘ Tere Bina Tere Bina is an Urdu TV series. It premiered on 21 >> Read More... ’. He is from London and grew up in a traditional Pakistani household with his parents, sisters, and brother. He was taught to speak Urdu and was kept very close to his culture by his mother. Zaheer is married and blessed with a son named Mikail Abbas. 

He fell in love with music at a very young age. His first interaction with music was when he heard the song ‘Mujhe Raat Din’ from the movie Sangharsh. He sang that song to his mother. She was impressed by his voice. With the support of his family, Zaheer decided to pursue music as his career.

He studied in an Arts school named ‘Bhavan London’ and enrolled in the Vocal Diploma Course. He was trained well in Classical Indian Vocal Music under the guidance of Smt Chandrima Misra of the Patiala-Kasur Gharana. He was awarded a two-year scholarship and graduated with distinction grade. He also learned strict Classical Khayal Music from her. He developed his musical acumen under her guidance. He performed Khayal in a few concerts and started to perform on stage. He also trained under Ustad Wajahat Khan from Etawa Gharana, where he focused on Fine nuances of singing.

The Peshawar school attack led Zaheer to write his first song, Tu Kahan Kho Gaya Hai. The profit generated from this song was for charity purposes.  Zaheer’s first recording was for BBC’s program Silent Witness (2012). His musical inspiration is Bollywood playback singer Mohhamad Rafi.

He released his debut commercial single ‘Tujhse Judai’ in 2021. His latest release is the song ‘Nikkah’ in 2022.
