Calvin Harris is well known face in the music industry. Harris was born on January 17, 1984 in Dumfries, Scotland. He was born as Adam Richard Wiles but he later he changed his name to Calvin Harris. His father David Wiles was a biochemist and his mother Pamela was a homemaker, before moving to Dumfries they use to live in Oxford; where they got married. Harris is the younger child of his parent. He has an older brother, Edward and an older sister, Sophie. After leaving Dumfries High School, he started working in a local fish processing factory to buy a DJ gear. At an age of 18 he released his two songs "Da Bongos" and "Brighter Days" in 2002. With the success of these songs he moved to London to learn music. During his time he released only one song "Let Me Know" with vocalist Ayah Marar in the London. In 2006 he signed contract with EMI, Three Six Zero Group and Sony BMG. Later in the same year, he produced a remix of All Saints' hit single "Rock Steady”. Harris first album ‘I Created Disco’ got released in 2007. For this album he wrote all song as well as produced and performed himself. His song "Acceptable in the 80s" became huge success and remained on music charts for 15 weeks. Harris released his second album Ready for the Weekend on August 2009.
The album became huge success on the UK album charts. Out of fourteen tracks he single handedly written and performed eleven songs for the album. "I'm Not Alone" and “Ready for the Weekend became a major success on UK music charts. In the next year he released several remixes including Katy Perry's "Waking Up in Vegas", Mr Hudson's "Supernova" (featuring Kanye West Kanye West is a Hollywood singer, hip hop recordin >> Read More... ), Mika"s "We Are Golden" and Shakira’s “She’s Wolf”. Harris featured in Kylie Minogue's eleventh studio album Aphrodite and also got credit for the song ‘Yeah 3x’ and album F.A.M.E. On LMFAO's album Sorry for Party Rocking, Harris featured in the song “Reminds Me of You”. By August 2011 Harris released his two singles ‘Bounce’ and ‘Feel So Close’. Both of them became super hit and reached the top spot on the UK charts.
For Rihanna, Harris produced "We Found Love" and "Where Have You Been" which became super hit worldwide and broke many records worldwide. For R&B singer Mary J. Blige's album My Life II... The Journey Continues Harris wrote and co-produced bonus track ‘one life’. He also worked on the single "Only the Horses" from their fourth studio album with the Scissor Sisters. For Cheryl Cole's single "Call My Name" he wrote and co-produced. In 2012 ‘Let’s Go’ featuring Ne-Yo released ehich became a chart buster, it reached till second spot on Billboard 100 chart. In 55th Grammy Awards the song received a nomination for the Best Dance Recording. His next single "Sweet Nothing", features Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine released in July 2012. The song got nomination on 56th Grammy Awards for the Best Dance Recording. When he released his next album 18 Months, all these song became its part. The album received nomination for Best Dance/Electronica Album in 56th Grammy Awards. Harris won Best Electronic Video for "Feel So Close" and Video of the Year alongside Rihanna for "We Found Love" at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards. On October 2013, Harris collaborated with the Swedish DJ Alesso and released the song ‘Under Control’.
The song became major hit in UK. Harris another single ‘Summer’ got released on UK’s capital FM, and became the chartbuster; it climbed to the top spot on UK chart. And it became the most-streamed track of 2014 with over 200 million streams. His next single ‘Blame’ his collaboration with vocalist John Newman. The song received lots of positive response from the reviewers and the critics. Later in 2014 he released a single featuring Ellie Goulding Born on December 30, 1986, in Hereford, England, E >> Read More... named ‘Outside’ released. And song became major success for both of them. He released his new album ‘Motion’ on November 2014; it included all previous singles released from 2013 to 14. The album became a successful hit. "Summer" was nominated for Best British Single and British Artist Video of the Year at the 2015 Brit Awards. On July 2015, he released his single ‘How deep is your love’. The song became huge success at Australia. And for this he received three nominations at 2016 Brit Awards including British Single of the Year, Best British Video and Best British Male Solo Artist.
