He moved to Miami, Florida, leaving New York at 17. He began his career with a local business of selling hamburgers in a drive-in restaurant. He decided to move to radio and soon got appointed as a radio announcer in Miami. Miami, an epicenter for cartoons and high scope for dubbing, attracted Guberman. With his natural swing in lip-syncing, he stepped into dubbing. Having found a way in, he started writing, directing, and dubbing for cartoons and television programs in several languages.
After a few years, he entered into an editing magazine. In 1975, he moved to New Jersey and joined a pharmaceutical company as a sales promotion manager. He co-authored a book on Transactional Awareness in 1978, followed by its second part, Transactional Awareness: Now I've Got You....in Business. He was later listed as a prominent name for sales promotion professional by Marquis Who’s Who.
His family included Leon and Clara Guberman, his parents, his wife Tamara Frances Sherman, and three children, Leon, Nanette, and Ira.
