Tim Headington or Timothy Headington is a producer and businessman of American origin, based in Dallas. He was born in the year 1950; his full name is Timothy Clare Headington, to Clare W. Headington and Catherine Meyer Headington. His father worked as a geologist. He has a sister named Jeanette Kern and a brother named Gregory Headington. Timothy earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from the University of Oklahoma, to which he was admitted based on a tennis scholarship. He went on to pursue graduate studies in theology and psychology at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California and completed his psychology residency at LA County Hospital. He also holds an honorary doctorate. Drawing inspiration from his father and uncle, who were geologists, he established Headington Oil in 1978, an oil and gas company located in Oklahoma City.
He later moved the company to Dallas in 1984. Currently, Headington is the president and sole shareholder of Headington Resources, Inc., which has diversified interests in real estate, private equity, oil, hotel development, natural gas, film production, and entertainment. Apart from the film industry, he has also ventured into real estate and developed the landmark Joule hotel in downtown Dallas, which is a member of the Leading Hotels of the World. He also completed the renovation of the former Republic National Bank building, which is now the Drakestone, a 20-floor apartment building located on Main St. Headington's efforts in revitalizing downtown Dallas have earned him recognition as a leader in this area. Tim Headington is an active philanthropist, personally and through various family foundations, supporting the education, skills, arts, and health in his community. He co-founded the Headington Institute, a non-profit organization headquartered in Pasadena, California, with a mission to provide support to first responders and caregivers worldwide who have experienced emotional trauma.
Timothy Headington's philanthropic contributions also include supporting organizations such as DIFFA/Dallas and the Aging Mind Foundation. In 2011, he was the executive producer for Rango.
