The 5th Wave is a survival thriller and has borrowed some ideas from the 2013 famous novel of Rick Yancey. Well, let’s see how the film has turned out to be.
Plot
The aliens are knee bent on killing the human beings, who are weaker to them. Thus, they get themselves involved in attacking the humans, which is through waves. And the 5th wave is apprehended as the most devastating and the ultimate one. But the problem is that the aliens look the same as humans.
And there is the story of Chloe Grace Moretz She is known to be one the greatest young actresse >> Read More... and her beloved family. Moretz lives a comfortable suburban life, but her happiness is soon shattered due to the invasion of an alien ship. Moretz’s mother is killed in the 3rd wave. Moretz, along with her brother and dad, seeks the resort of a survivor camp. The army lends a helping hand to the refugees, but things go out of way. Moretz gets stranded, her dad is killed, and her sibling is moved to an Air Force. Here the children are trained to combat the aliens. What does Moretz do to save her brother and also humanity? Watch the movie to find out.
Star Performances
Moretz is brimming with youth in the film, and she does a convincing job as the girl who has grits in the face of crisis. Schreiber makes a great villain. As for Livingston, he does a commendable job. The other casts are quite ok.
Analysis
The onscreen version of The 5th Wave is not as engrossing as the novel. In fact, the director J Blakeson has not included some significant elements of the novel in the movie. For the romance lovers, there is some tasteless romance in the movie.
What’s there?
The relationship between the sister and brother is executed well. This is one of the major highlights of the movie.
What’s not there?

If you haven’t read the novel, The 5th Wave makes for an engrossing watch.
