David Miller was a freelance producer of Canadian origin. He was born in 1974 in Ontario, Canada. He completed his graduation from Forrest Heights Collegiate and also went to Simon Fraser University in Vancouver to study communications. He started his career as the director of creative and business development at Channel Zero Inc. He supervised freelance productions within Canada and also overseas with the production houses DRM Productions and Poor Man’s Productions. He was part of the Canadian Media Producer’s Association (CMPA). He also worked as the Head of Public Relations for the Academy of Canadian Cinema and the National Film Board of Canada.
He oversaw the National Film Board of Canada’s Oscar Campaign and it was under his leadership that it won an Oscar for the movie Ryan. The movie Amal produced by him won a nomination for Best Motion Picture at Genie 2009. The movie won the Santa Barbara International Award and the award at the Indian Film Festival in Los Angeles for Best Feature Film. Some of the films produced by him are The Offer (2015), The Child Remains (2017), Drowning (2019), The Righteous (2021), The Other Half (2016), E.M.S. (2014), River (2015), The Cocksure Lads Movie (2014), About Face (2008), Blackbird (2012) and many more. He died in 2021in Canada due to unknown reasons.
